Bourbon Country Reposado Old Fashioned

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Lunazul Reposado Tequila
  • 0.25 oz agave nectar (or rich demerara syrup)
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 dash orange bitters
  • Wide orange peel

Instructions

  1. 1

Add agave nectar and both bitters to a mixing glass.

  2. 2

Add the reposado and fill with ice.

  3. 3

Stir 30 seconds, until properly chilled and slightly diluted.

  4. 4

Strain over one large cube in a rocks glass.

  5. 5

Express the orange peel over the surface, then drop it in.

Glassware & Garnish

Serve in a rocks glass, one large cube, garnished with orange peel.

Editor's note: This is the drink we use to introduce bourbon drinkers to agave. Keep the sweetener low — a bourbon-barrel reposado already brings vanilla and oak, and over-sweetening buries the agave underneath it.
